North Canterbury Musicals Community Connector - Terms of Reference
North Canterbury Musicals has been awarded a grant from the Rata Foundation to enable the society to contract an enthusiastic administrator for approximately 8 hours a week for up to 50 weeks. The contractor would help the society upgrade its facilities and processes to become more of a community hub in our region. The hourly rate is $25 p/h.

Experience with a musical theatre context is preferred.
The successful contractor will be responsible to the committee regarding all tasks. While the applicant will have a small budget for administrative essentials, approval for items outside this will need to be sought from the committee on a case-by-case basis.

- revamped systems and processes to enable a variety of community groups and others to have access to the venue
- regular events to better enable community connections
- the creation of a warm, welcoming place for people to meet others and hopefully become inspired to join the NCMS team
- some increased financial assistance for key costs

- Connect with local businesses with the view to gain sponsorship/ donations/discounts for/on the products to assist NCMS to achieve its mission.
- Increase room bookings.
- Increase the society’s profile in our community including developing and managing events that encourage community participation.
- Create an online calendar which alerts the society to requirements such as health and safety requirements and maintenance.
- Investigate other funding options for the society for the future, and make applications as agreed with the committee.
- Increase NCMS membership including assisting with improving systems and processes to enhance membership numbers and ensure subscriptions are paid.
- Any other related tasks as requested by the committee.
- Provide monthly reporting including a record of hours worked and outputs achieved, which will then be collated in a written report for the Rata Foundation at the end of the 50 week period.
We are looking for enthusiastic contractors who:
- are results focused
- have exceptional relationship building and management skills and are able to communicate effectively with a variety of people
- are proficient with computer technology
- have experience in system and process development
- have strong organisational skills
- have an understanding of how registered charities operate
- are self-starters, flexible and able to think outside the square
- are willing and able to cold-call businesses and sponsors.
