The NCMS Singing Group is a 35 strong group who meet every Thursday. We learn a wide variety of music for various singing engagements during the year, including challenging 4 part harmony work. We entertain at various venues around the district and one recent highlight was putting on a murder mystery play on the 4th of July at a restaurant in Leithfield. We have also put on a number of variety concerts, including a very popular war song concert with the Rangiora Brass Band. If you enjoy singing and can hold a tune, you are most welcome to come along and join in. You are not committed to coming every week, except if the group is working towards some special event like the Christmas festival, then the commitment to the group would mean you would need to be there regularly so that the numbers can be fully rehearsed and everyone in the group has all the important details. Our singing group is run by life member Gail Fox who has been a long standing committee member and has musically directed past shows for the society such as Calamity Jane and Footrot Flats. Please feel free to come along: Practices run from 7.30 p.m to 9.30 p.m Thursday at the rehearsal rooms Call Gail 313-6774 or email singinggroup@ncms.co.nz to find out more. |
